• Description: This Dorman OE FIX intake manifold runner control (IMRC) motor is designed to save repair time and expense by addressing a known issue affecting the IMRC factory design on specified Chrysler, Dodge and Ram vehicles. The wire harness on the original equipment IMRC is too short and doesn't provide enough slack to flex with normal engine vibrations. Over time as the wires become brittle, they can lose contact or short out, rendering the variable intake manifold inoperable and causing a loss of engine power. A short circuit can also cause the failure of the IMRC motor itself, resulting in a check engine light and fault codes P1004, P2008, P2016, or P2017. Chrysler issued a technical service bulletin advising technicians to lengthen the wiring harness on the original equipment IMRC motor, but you can make a more permanent repair with this convenient, all-in-one Dorman OE FIX solution. The kit features a new IMRC motor and a pre-assembled, longer wire harness with an OE-style connector. To ensure a solid and dependable fit to the intake manifold, this kit also includes a quality O-ring seal, retainer zip tie, and the new mounting stud and bolt needed to install the extended wire harness retainer.
